Entry Requirements

Entry into Curtin Sydney is based on academic performance in combination with English proficiency. Forecast or preliminary results are accepted where appropriate. Students from countries not listed below should contact the Admissions Office of Curtin Sydney for further details. These entry requirements are a guide only.

Students can obtain a comprehensive list of English language requirements from the Curtin Sydney Admissions Office. Some students will need to achieve a required level in IELTS before being issued with a student visa by the Australian government. International students who do not satisfy the English language requirements need to undertake an intensive English language course (ELICOS) or alternatively may be offered the Mixed English program (at Certificate level) at Curtin Sydney.

Academic Entry Requirements

Academic entry requirements for the acceptance levels are outlined below:

Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan HSC (10+2) Second Division Pass. HSC 50% average. Successful completion of a two-year degree at a recognised institution; Completion of the Bangladesh Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) with a minimum Grade Point average of 4.0 (70-79%); Completion of a degree or bachelor level diploma at Tribhuvan University; Completion of the Higher Secondary School Certificate of Intermediate (Division 1) from Pakistan with an average of 65% in four academic subjects, and at least 60% in English.
Canada Year 12 or Year 11 with good grades. Year 12 or Ontario Secondary School Diploma with 55% average.  
China, Taiwan, Macau Senior Middle 2 (Gao Er) Senior Middle 3 (Gao San) with 70% or better from 4 key academic subjects One year of a Bachelor's degree at a recognised university, or completion of the National University Entrance Examination (Gao Kao) or Universities and Colleges Joint Entrance Examination, at a specified level for entry to a key university for a 4 year degree program.

Kenya KSCE with D grade average or GCE O-level KCSE with C plain average or 2 A-level passes (3 points) Successful completion of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with an average grade of C+ or better obtained in seven subjects (including a C+ better in English, Kiswahili and Maths).
Korea Completion of Year 11 Senior High School Diploma with an overall grade average of 2.8 Successful completion of one or two years of a Bachelor's degree at a recognised institution
Malaysia SPM, Form 5 or UEC Minimum 3 points from STPM or A-levels, UEC (2Bs, 2Cs) Two Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan (Malay medium) (STPM) passes (minimum one C and one D grade) and three credit passes at SPM level OR Senior Middle 3 (MICSC) two A grades and two B grades.
New Zealand 6th Form Cert. with score of 20 or less in 4 subjects NZ Bursary (min. 200 pts from best 5 subjects) or NZ 6th form cert with 16 or less in 4 subjects An A or B Bursary Award in the New Zealand Universities Bursaries and Scholarships Examinations with an aggregate in five subjects equivalent to the Curtin minimum TER (currently 70).

Postgraduate Entry Requirements

International applicants must provide evidence of completion of a degree from a recognised university and provide evidence of English language proficiency as all courses are taught in English.
