Sydney boasts a range of accommodation options. You can choose to live:
- with an Australian family (called homestay),
- in student lodging, such as UniLodge
- in private rental accommodation
- in short-term accommodation (hostels or hotels)
You must contact the providers directly to book or rent their accommodation. We suggest arranging your accommodation as early as possible – preferably as soon as you have accepted the offer of a place at Curtin University Sydney.
If you haven’t decided where you would like to live in Sydney, a minimum booking of two weeks at a Homestay or hostel/hotel will guarantee you somewhere to stay upon arrival and while you make more definite arrangements.
Homestay, with an Australian family in a private furnished bedroom, provides a great opportunity to improve your English skills and have an authentic cultural experience. The families are carefully selected by Curtin University Sydney’s Homestay provider, Global Experience. Accommodation is available throughout Sydney and usually in close proximity to public transport. You can specify a preferred location, however not all requests can be met. We recommend keeping an open mind and being flexible, as your experience with the homestay family will almost certainly be a rewarding one, wherever it may be.

Private rental accommodation is available all across the city and all suburban areas are accessible by public transport with travelling times ranging from 10 minutes to one hour from campus. If you’re seeking shared accommodation it’s worth checking the noticeboards on campus for available rooms.
